Cadet’s Equinox baseboard heater has come with brand new features and options to improve the residents’ heating experience. These heaters are different from most Cadet baseboards because they have a larger range of wattage.

Cadet Equinox Baseboard Heater Wattage to Voltage
Wattage Voltage
500W / 375W
240V / 208V
750W / 563W
1000W / 750W
1250W / 938W
1000W / 750W
2000W / 1500W
2500W / 1875W

Wattages range from 500 to 2500 watts. A wider range of wattages allows residents to decide which wattage is best for their homes or commercial settings.

Some of the other improvements include:

  • Built-In Thermostat
  • Sleek and Compact Design
  • Improved Heater Performance
  • Thermal Overheat Protection

Built-In Thermostat

The Equinox is also different because it is an electric baseboard heater with an electronic thermostat. built-in thermostat helps control temperatures from the baseboard heater. The thermostat is very accurate and keeps a consistent room temperature.

Sleek and Compact Design

With attention to a sleeker design, Cadet manufactured the Equinox to have a more modern look that blends in with several wall colors. A more compact design is also an important addition to this baseboard heater!

The compact size is almost 50% smaller in length than conventional baseboards. This makes the heater perfect for smaller rooms and under windows.

Improved Heater Performance

The new heating performance reduces energy consumption from the unit and increases comfort. A shark-fin blade design on select units provides a better heat transfer and quiet operation

Thermal Overheat Protection

This protective feature keeps the heater and the surrounding areas safe. This addition will keep the resident informed about the issue at hand.

Other features include an overheat cut-out feature for safety and pre-stamped mounting holes for easy installation.

For Contractors

Mounting

Equinox baseboards require a specific optimizer kit to perform at higher performances. Install the optimizer kit on drywall, plaster, wood or concrete walls. Installation without the optimizer kit can increase wall temperature, leading to discoloration of the wall.

Ensure the Equinox connects from the right side of the heater. Use the left side as a junction box and underneath as a wireway.

For the best performance around drapes and furniture, we recommend specific distances the objects can be from the baseboard:

  • Full Length Drapes: 1.5 inches between top of the drapes and ceiling, 1.5 inches between bottom of drapes and finished floor, 3 inches between vertical surface and fold of drapes
  • Shorter Length Drapes: 1.5 inches between top of the drapes and ceiling, 6 inches between bottom of the drapes and the horizontal surface of the heater
  • Furniture: Needs to be no closer than 3 inches
  • Overhanging Solid Objects (Except Plastic): Needs to be at least 14 inches between object
  • Overhanging Plastic Objects: At least 20 inches away from heater for plastic items that cannot withstand temperatures of 60 degrees or higher

Install multiple Equinox Baseboards parallel on a single circuit. Give at least 6-inch clearance for 2 heater installations.

Wire Gauge

Heaters should be protected by over-current devices rated at no more than 30 amps.

Length

The Equinox baseboard heaters include 20-, 30-, 40-, and 50-inch. Inspect client's residence, to see which baseboard fits the best in each area.

Circuit Loading

Connect to a 12 amp dedicated circuit (check local codes) at 120V & 240V.
