How Do Zigbee Compatible Devices Work?
This global wireless networking system is a great energy efficient alternative to WiFi and Bluetooth, and is commonly used in low powered devices, such as smart home automation systems, smart light bulbs, and programmable thermostats. The benefit of Zigbee compatible devices is that they share the same mesh networking system, meaning they can be paired with any Zigbee controlled device.
This can provide greater stability and data transmission, ultimately improving the devices range. These devices can not only be paired with several other smart products, but they can be separated from each other, at an exceeding distance, without interfering with the network communication. Do I need to purchase a Zigbee controller?
- If you already have an existing Zigbee network-controlled device, you can easily link any Stelpro smart thermostat to the system.
- If you do not already have an existing Zigbee device, we recommend purchasing the Maestro Smart Programmable Wifi Thermostat w/Zigbee Control 240V, Black. This device comes with an internal Zigbee controller that can be easily installed and connected to your WiFi.
- If you don’t want to purchase the thermostat with the internal controller, you will need to purchase a separate Zigbee controller.
