Why is my ceiling fan clicking?
Your ceiling fan can click for several reasons. The issues are below:
- Imbalanced blades – Use a blade balancing kit to balance the blades. The balancing kit comes with plastic clips and balancing weights to balance the fan blade. Follow the instructions on where to place the plastic clips and balancing weights. Once you find the correct spot, the fan blade will stop making a clicking noise.
- Faulty blade holders – To fix a faulty blade holder, you can either replace the entire blade holder or lubricate and clean the internal parts.
We also recommend checking the blades to see if they are damaged.
Do ceiling fans cool a room?
No, ceiling fans do not cool a room. Instead, they provide a wind chill effect. This is a combination of two processes: evaporative cooling and convective cooling. Fans increase the evaporative process by increasing the air movement around the skin. Fans also provide convective cooling by circulating air and replacing warm air with cooler air.
