How to hang a wall fan?

Mounting a wall fan can seem quite challenging especially if you have never done it before. However, we are not going to let you continue to struggle with the installation.

Before beginning, you will need the following materials:

  • Wall-hanging fan with mounting bracket
  • Drill machine
  • Measuring tape
  • Screwdriver
  • Pencil or pen
  • Wall plugs and screws

Below we offer the steps on how to hang a wall fan.

  1. Find a place on the wall where the fan can circulate the most air. We recommend choosing a place that is near a power socket so it will be easier to plug in.
  2. Place the mounting bracket against the wall and mark where the screws will go.
  3. Drill holes into the wall where the markings are. Place the wall plugs in the holes. Ensure the holes are not so deep that you lose the screws during the installation.
  4. Push the screws through the bracket into the holes in the wall. Use a screwdriver to tighten the bracket into place.
  5. Place the fan into the bracket on the wall. Either lock the fan in place or manually install it into the wall.
  6. After mounting the fan, plug it in and turn it on. It is important to do this final step to ensure there is full oscillation and the fan works properly.

Disclaimer: If you are not a licensed professional in electrical wiring, HomElectrical does not recommend DIY installation. Always hire an electrician for any, and all, electrical needs.
