A semi-flush mount light is a light fixture that has a gap between the ceiling and the light fixture. A stem holds the fixture down and creates a small 4-to-8-inch gap from the ceiling. Semi-flush mounts are normally more decorative than flush mounts.

Semi-flush mounts are perfect above countertops, or in rooms with guests. They are also great for taller ceilings.

Before installing Nuvo’s Kew Collection, hire a licensed electrician to complete the installation. The electrician will follow Nuvo’s installation guide for the installation. Below are some of the steps the electrician will take.

• Step 1: The electrician will turn off the power and gather all the pieces to the fixture.
• Step 2: Then they will thread the mounting screw into the matching hole of the mounting bar.
• Step 3: Then they will secure the mounting bar to the outlet box.
• Step 4: When those two steps are completed, the electrician will begin working on connecting the wires. This includes finding the corresponding wires from the fixture to the right wires in the wall.
• Step 5: Once the wiring is completed, the electrician will tuck the wires into the outlet box. Then they will place the canopy on the mounting screw and attach the canopy.
• Step 6: Then they will install the lamp.
• Step 7: Once the lamp is in, they will put the glass shade on the glass holder and place the glass in with screws. When they finish this step, they will turn the power back on to see if what they did was correct.
