FTZ Industries Wire Connector

Split bolts have a split between the head of the bolt and the end so that it is easy to place things through the bolt, making these great in situations where the wire or pipe needs to be secured through the bolt, including:

• cable lines
• telephone lines
• holding splices together
• connecting ground wires

In accordance with the National Electric Code (NEC), you can run a direct burial wire in the ground without a conduit surrounding it as long as you have the right insulation. The most common types include Underground Service Entrance (USE) and Underground Feeder (UF). You may use this type:

• running electricity to a house
• connecting post lights
• locating buried pipes with tracer wire
• installing sprinklers in golf courses
• hooking a propane grill to a propane tank

When using an underground feeder cable, make sure to have bury the wires at least 18 feet in the ground.

A service post connector connects 1 or 2 conductors to an external stud or tapped hole. Check to see if the connector you are using is UL listed for direct burial.
