What are line sets?
A line set is the pair of copper tubes that connect the air condenser on the outside of your house to the air handler on the inside of your house. A good, insulated line set is essential for protecting your AC unit from environmental damage.
When should I replace my line set ?
You can expect your line set to provide quality service for 20-25 years. However, they are not universally sized, and may need to be replaced when installing a new AC, especially if they are damaged. If your line set is damaged, your AC will leak and provide improper cooling. Fortunately, Cooper&Hunter’s line sets are ultra pre-insulated, pre-flared and UV/UV-C protected.
How can I protect my refrigerant lines?
Cooper & Hunter makes two kits to help cover and protect mini split lines, both of which can conveniently be found on HomElectrical.com! These coverings are extremely durable, weatherproof, paintable, lightweight, and easy to install! Kits include:
- 3-in OR 4-in wide ducts
- A flexible duct
- A wall inlet
- A 90° elbow
- A 120° flat swivel elbow
- Couplers
- An end fitting
You can also seal the insulation on your line set with sealant tape or another sealant like caulk.
