Thread cutting oil does a variety of things to assist in the cutting process. The oil cools threads and pipes during operatio. Oil also exists for speed metal removal. Ridgid cutting oil is free of chlorine and other halogens, PCBs and heavy metals. The dark oil is traditional mineral oil with low odor and anti-mist formulation. The synethetic thread cutting fluid cleans easily off concrete, clothing and piping with water and is also biodegradable.
