Euri Lighting MR Series LED Bulb

An MR16 bulb is a light bulb that is commonly used to provide directional lighting. The “M” and “R” stand for multifaceted reflector. The multifaceted reflectors control the direction and spread of the light that is cast down from the bulb. The “16” represents the diameter of the bulb which equates to 2 inches. MR16 bulbs typically use 12V to operate but come with other voltages as well. Since they run on low voltage, MR16 bulbs require a transformer to function properly.

To change an MR16 bulb from a Halogen to an LED bulb, you should first check the wattage of the bulb. You should also look at the transformer rating to see the one you are using. Once you have checked the transformer rating and the wattage of the bulb, you should check the packaging of the LED bulb to ensure it is compatible with the fixture and transformer. After checking the packaging, you can begin the process of changing the bulbs.

1. Turn off the power to either the light fixture or the entire lighting system. This will help prevent electric shock.
2. Allow the halogen to cool off or put on a heat-resistant glove if the bulb is hot.
3. Hold the base of the halogen bulb and twist it counterclockwise to release it from the socket.
4. Remove the old halogen bulb and dispose of it.
5. Place the new MR16 LED bulb into the socket and gently push the bulb in until it clicks into place.
6. Turn the light on to test that it is working.
