LED shoebox light fixtures are rectangular fixtures used to light large outdoor areas. The name “shoebox” comes from its rectangular, shoebox-like structure. Shoebox lights support wide and even light distributions using an array of LED modules. Additionally, shoebox lights are durable and withstand harsh conditions.
The main difference between shoebox lights and spotlights is the beam angle. Shoebox lights offer a wide beam angle and general illumination to the surrounding area. Most standard shoebox lights have a T3 beam angle (140° width and 90° forward direction). Shoebox lights are typically sold with LED options.
Spotlights differ in that they provide a focused beam angle and highlight objects or features. Most spotlights are great for providing accent lighting. They typically have a beam angle that ranges from 10° to 60°.
