How bright should LED underwater lights be in a pond or fountain?
The amount of lumens required for your LED Underwater light depends on the size of the water source. For smaller water features, choose a brightness level that is between 200 and 500 lumens. For larger water features, choose a brightness level that is 800 to 1500 lumens. For commercial applications, choose a light with a brightness level that is larger than 2000.
Can LED underwater lights be repaired?
Yes, LED underwater lights can be repaired. It is recommended to repair or have maintenance on your underwater lights. You may need to repair your light if it has the following:
- a faulty power supply
- a faulty or damaged wiring
- a damaged seal or sealants
- a damaged light housing
Extensive damage may require a complete replacement of the light. You can prevent the need for repair (or replacement) by doing regular cleaning of your lights, getting your pool and pool lights annually inspected, and adding protective cages to prevent external damage. This will save you money and time instead of having to buy another one.
