What is a hole seal?

Designed to seal unused pushbutton or conduit holes, enclosure hole seals prevent outside air from getting into the enclosure. This keeps out dirt and dust that may lower the lifespan of the components inside the enclosure.

E-Box hole seals can seal conduit openings and knockout openings as well as unused push button holes and other openings with irregular shapes and sizes. They protect against dust, dirt, oil, and water.

Why choose an E-Box hole seal?

E-Box offers steel hole seals with an oil tight construction. Typically positioned outside the enclosure, a gasket gets placed over the stud. A backplate and wing nut fasten to the seal from the inside of the enclosure. As the wing nut tightens, the cover compresses the gasket to seal the hole. They work with enclosures with a wall thickness up to 0.31 inches.

Each hole seal has a cover with a 1/16-in flange formed around the perimeter and a #10 x 5/8 stud welded in the center. The wing nuts for steel covers consist of A-36 steel.

E-Box hole seals range in size from 0.5 inch up to 4 inches in diameter.
