Additional Zones

Depending on the unit, the 3rd generation offered multi-zone systems that could only support up to four zones. With MRCOOL’s new 48K BTU condenser, you can now heat or cool up to five zones! Keep up to five rooms in your home the perfect temperature all year round.

High SEER Ratings

The Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio measure the efficiency of an air conditioner. The higher the SEER rating, the more efficiently the unit operates. MRCOOL’s new 4th GEN DIY single zone offers increased SEER ratings over their 3rd generation counterparts.

DIY Pro Cable

Included with each mini split, the DIY Pro Cable features an interlocked aluminum armor PVC jacket which creates a durable design. It helps protect from garden equipment as well as damage from animals. The DIY Pro Cable also features flexible, easy connectors for a trouble-free installation.

How many rooms can they cool?

Their single-zone fourth generation units offer temperature control in rooms of various sizes, such as:

  • 12K BTU – manages 500 square feet
  • 18K BTU - manages 750 square feet
  • 24K BTU - manages 1,000 square feet
  • 36K BTU - manages 1,500 square feet

Their multi-zone units can control the temperature in up to 2, 3, 4, or 5 zones.

  • 18K BTU - up to 2 zones
  • 27K BTU - up to 3 zones
  • 36K BTU - up to 4 zones
  • 48K BTU - up to 5 zones

Another change they made is that the MrCool 4th generation does not offer as many complete systems as the 3rd generation. Instead, MrCool offers a configurator to help you choose the products you need. Just scroll about halfway down the page and select the button to begin configuring your system.
