What are hand dryers?

Hand dryers are electric devices found in public restrooms that are used to dry hands. They may either operate with a button or automatically using an infrared sensor. The STELPRO design El Niño operates using a sensor and features four personal operating modes to respond to your different needs and dries your hands within seconds. It also features a 60-second time out if hands are not removed during that time. The ASHDL series hand dryer features a push-button activation method and a 90-second time out. Both styles can be surface mounted and are efficient replacements for traditional paper towels.

What is the difference between a push button hand dryer and automatically operated hand dryer?

A push button hand dryer is operated by pressing a button which forces the air out, and it turns off after a set amount of time. An automatically operated hand dryer allows for hands-free operation. It uses a sensor to force air out of the unit when it senses hands underneath. The heater goes off after a set amount of time.

How are the hand dryers installed?

Both versions of our hand dryers are wall-mounted, and can be recessed as well. They adhere to ADA standards for public and commercial areas.

Is My Hand Dryer ADA Compliant?

In order to comply with ADA guidelines your hand dryer needs to be mounted to the wall and cannot be recessed with the bottom of the hand dryer at a height accessible for persons in wheelchairs. An "under" type hand dryer is typically mounted at a minimum of 32 inches and not exceeding 46 inches from the ground. A "Hands In" type hand dryer is mounted with the bottom surface not exceeding 27 inches from the ground.
