What are some features of Peterson Fluxes Blue Flux?

Peterson Fluxes blue flux is a powder based substance that is generally used for brazing cast and malleable iron or steel. In other words it will create a strong bond between alloys during the welding process. It can be used to clean or bond dirty, rusty and burnt casting plus eliminate all oxides by bringing them to the surface. This substance can also be applied during the torch welding of brass, bronze, and copper.

How do you use Peterson Fluxes Blue Flux?

Blue flux from Peterson Fluxes is designed for brazing and creating a strong bond between alloys.

  • It is used in the welding process so the first thing that you are going to need is a brazing rod that you can dip into the blue flux.
  • Have it at the ready so you have the torch in one hand and the brazing rod dipped in the flux in the other.
  • Keep the flux at a convenient distance as you will probably need to reach for it while you are welding.
  • Heat up the alloys and allow the alloy, not the torch, to melt the covered brazing rod and it will begin to bond the alloys.
